Notes from Guest Reader Ilana Masad

‘Drowned’ is a prime example of how flash fiction can tell a story with a past, present, and future all bundled into a small space. There is such a sense of both history and character here, and the writing itself is glorious.

About the Author

Dana Heifetz is a philosopher and an art therapist. She has published short stories and poems in various literary journals. Her collection of stories, Dolphins in Kiryat Gat (Safra and Hakibbutz Hameuchad, 2015) won the Israeli Writers Union Prize and the Culture Minister’s Award for the first book.
