We are constantly amazed by our workshop participants. Not a day goes by that we don’t hear on social media about one or more of them publishing their work. SmokeLong hosts webinars, intensive workshops, and the largest community workshop in flash, SmokeLong Fitness, with around 150 current participants. During A SmokeLong Summer and The March Micro Marathon, this number often swells to 300. We are passionate about workshopping; if you are too, JOIN US. We are not a cult.
For October, we’ve listed the publications our participants have reported to us below with links to the narratives. Reading through these publications is also a great way to get an impression of journals publishing flash. The variety is astounding.
We’re excited to share that our participants have published more than 20 publications in/around October! And these are just the people who took the time to let us know. Remember that if you participate in any SmokeLong workshop and subsequently get something published that you started in that workshop, you are eligible to enter The SmokeLong Workshop Prize (on our Submittable page)–and you might just win $500. That’s some sweet cherry gravy* on top! This competition is free to enter, so please do let us know about your successes (always once the narrative has been published). We are rooting for you. This one’s on us. The deadline for this competition is always November 10 for publications on or before November 1. For example, let’s say you took part in a SmokeLong intensive workshop in 2020 and are just now finding out about The SmokeLong Workshop Prize. If you ended up publishing something you started in that workshop, let us know.
The following list is comprised of narratives that began in a SmokeLong workshop, were subsequently published, and were reported to us in October 2024. Please browse the titles below and click on a few that invite you in. They are in chronological order as they were submitted to SmokeLong.
Please join us in celebrating…
