Dave Clapper lives in the Pacific Northwest and is a father of two. His fiction has appeared in over thirty journals, and is forthcoming in "Online Writing: Best of the First Ten Years." Submissions Editors Stefanie Freele is the 2008 Kathy Fish Fellowship Writer-In-Residence for SmokeLong Quarterly. She has a MFA from the Northwest Institute of Literary Arts: Whidbey Writers Workshop. Recent work has appeared or is forthcoming in Glimmer Train, American Literary Review, Talking River, Literary Mama, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, Frigg, Wigleaf, Café Irreal, Permafrost, Hobart, Cezanne’s Carrot, and Contrary. Davin Malasarn is a writer and research scientist in Paris, France. He received a PEN Center USA Emerging Voices Fellowship in 2008. He was a finalist in the 2008 Glimmer Train Very Short Fiction Contest. Two of his stories, "A Boy In The Sky" and "I Am Waiting For My Dogs To Die" were nominated for Pushcart Prizes. Stefani Nellen's work has appeared or is forthcoming in Inkwell, Cosmos Magazine, Quarter After Eight, Dzanc Books' Best of the Web 2008 Anthology (with a story originally published in Smokelong), and many more. She's a graduate of the 2008 Clarion Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Workshop. Stefani splits her time between the US and the Netherlands. Meg Pokrass lives in San Francisco. She works as a technical writer in the aerospace/defense industry, and in her spare time plays with her kid, goes to breakfast buffets, plays video games, and watches an unhealthy amount of TV. She has work appearing or forthcoming in FRiGG, Grey's Sporting Journal, Keyhole Magazine, Dogzplot 08 Anthology, elimae, and others. She received the 2007 Kathy Fish Fellowship at SmokeLong Quarterly. Ania Vesenny lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her flash fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in The Toronto Quarterly, Descant, Per Contra, FRiGG, Night Train, elimae, and elsewhere. Shellie Zacharia teaches in Florida. Her stories have appeared in Hobart, Opium, Keyhole, The Pinch, Washington Square, Juked, Pequin, Monkeybicycle, and elsewhere. Her story collection, Now Playing, is forthcoming from Keyhole Press. Cover Artist A native of Ohio, M. D. Ison lives with his wife of twenty-five years transplanted in the sands of the Gulf of Mexico. He studied Fine Arts at St. Petersburg College. Consulting Editors Nance Knauer spends far too much time googling for her muse and convincing her family and friends that writing IS a real job. She sees her life as a collection of short stories but has yet to discover the underlying theme. She has been published in Seven Seas Magazine, Dead Mule, Word Riot, The Sidewalk's End, and SmokeLong Quarterly. Thomas White is an avid reader and book collector from Tennessee. He holds a BA in English with emphasis on 20th Century American Literature. He is new to the arena of Flash Fiction, but is working feverishly to be published in what he calls his latest obsession. He continues to struggle with his efforts to create the next great Appalachian novel. He and his partner recently purchased a 103-year-old home on the National Historic Register with hopes to open a Bed and Breakfast in the next year. The home rehabilitation process has taken time away from his writing, but his guilt over not writing on a daily basis should generate some memorable prose. Joseph Young lives in Baltimore where he writes and works as a freelance editor. His art writing can be found at BaltimoreInterview.com and his microfiction at verysmalldogs.blogspot.com. His work has also appeared in such journals as SmokeLong Quarterly, Mississippi Review, Exquisite Corpse, and elsewhere. He has a great interest in the visual arts and is busy collaborating with several artists, joining his words with their images.
