FRiGG is five years old!
They're not making much (any) ado about it, but the latest issue of FRiGG Magazine is number 20. And they're quarterly. Do the math...

Happy fifth birthday, FRiGG!

As always, it's a dynamite issue, featuring short fiction by Daphne Buter, Scott Garson, Michael Leone, Mark McLaren, and Gabriel Orgrease; and poetry by Terri Brown-Davidson, Cheryl Chambers, Thylias Moss, Kristine Ong Muslim, and Joseph R. Trombatore.

Go! Read!

handwritten
If you are a storyteller with terrific penmanship, you might consider submitting to Keyhole's intriguing By Hand issue. Here's the info:

We're looking for hand-written poetry, fiction, or anything else literary.

If you have the ability to scan documents, feel free--send to submissions@keyholepublications.com (also include a separate .doc file with text).

If you can't scan yourself, mail to:

Keyhole
1307-B 15th Avenue South,
Nashville, TN 37212.

Keep the size in mind. The journal is 6x9 inches. Write on any paper size but keep text within a 6x9 area. May use multiple pages if necessary. Write it out on any surface that can be scanned. Illustrations are welcome too.

If we get a good response we want to put out an extra, completely hand-written issue.

Elizabeth Ellen at 3:AM Magzine

Smokelong Contributor Elizabeth Ellen has three new flashes at 3:AM, titled "Broken," "Borrowed Time," and "Some Women Like to Travel." "Broken" is my favorite of the bunch, and includes this especially witty exchange:

"You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war," you said and I thought about how I'd already read that on the bumper of your car.

"I'm not preparing for war," I said, "I'm preparing for defeat."

"Either way," you shrugged.

I uncrossed my arms; let them fall limply at my sides. I wanted you to put back on the porkpie hat. Without it you looked too much like every other man I knew. I was no longer sure you were capable of overseeing the atrocities I wished you to inflict upon me.

As usual, Elizabeth's got killer dialogue and sharp narration to spare. Also, a gentle reminder: Her new chapbook, Sixteen Miles Outside of Phoenix, is now available as part of the collection A Peculiar Feeling of Restlessness, along with chapbooks by Amy Clark, Kathy Fish, and Claudia Smith.
