Art Submissions

We are seeking one piece of art per issue of SmokeLong to adorn our "cover." Previously, we had very specific size requirements. Beginning with Issue Five, this is of less concern. However, we have new needs in place of the old:

While we accept all types of visual art, we are definitely more inclined toward painting.

Images of art should be sent at the highest possible resolution, preferably no less than 300 dpi. This is because, beginning with Issue Five, we will be publishing in print as well.

The larger the image you can send us, the better. We will optimize as needed (and with your approval).

If we use your work, we require non-exclusive rights to it indefinitely both for use on our print and online covers and for inclusion in our archives. All other rights remain yours.

As the artwork serves as our cover, we may modify art to show a date, an issue number, and, if the issue has a theme, a title.

Submissions should be sent to art@smokelong.com. Please allow two to four weeks for a response. We will contact all artists who submit, regardless of whether their work is used or not.

We currently send one contributor copy (beginning with Issue Six) for art accepted.
